Home » Symposium in Honor of the 100th anniversary of Academician V.E. Zuev
The conference is dedicated to the memory of the Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of the USSR State Prize and the USSR Council of Ministers Prize, winner of 22 government awards, founder of the scientific school on atmospheric optics, Academician Vladimir Evseevich Zuev (1925–2003).
V.E. Zuev was the founder and first director of the Institute of Atmospheric Optics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1969). Through his efforts and energy, the Tomsk Academic Town became a unique scientific entity with a well-developed social sphere (1975); he was at the origins of the creation of the Tomsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1979). Now there are 5 full-fledged academic institutes operating in the Academic Town of Tomsk, which are among the leading scientific institutions in Russia in their field.
